Packaging and Transportation of Lithium Battery for Homes
Packaging
We pack the batteries into inner packaging that completely encloses the battery, such as a fiberboard box. This prevents short circuits. The inner packaging is packed in a strong outer packaging, such as a wooden box, fiberboard or metal box. This provides protection against impact and crushing. Our packaging is tightly sealed to prevent electrolyte spillage. Any packaging damage, such as punctures or tears, is unsuitable for transportation. We store the batteries upright to avoid short circuits. They are also isolated from unnecessary heat sources during transportation.
Transportation
When preparing batteries for shipping, we check the Watt-hour rating, which indicates the battery's energy capacity. Batteries with higher Watt-hour ratings require more precautions. Check the state of charge (SOC), which is the percentage of charge available. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) stipulates that for air transportation, the SOC must not exceed 30%. This reduces the possibility of thermal runaway. A strict no-smoking policy is enforced during battery transportation. We ensure that contingency plans are in place to deal with potential incidents such as leaks or fires.
